Re: Special council meeting July 23, 2014

This meeting was a sad joke. I'm not going to post numbers, to avoid giving them more credibility than I feel they warrant. Read the Record article when it comes out.
  • The new consultant seems to have cherry-picked where it did its sampling, omitting the little league field and eastern section. For that, they're relying on TERMS sampling, notwithstanding the borough's criticizing that sampling
  • While DEP is waiving its usual review period, EPA won't. In any event, excavating the material will take several months and the field won't be open until 2015
  • Cleanup will be to the standard in the original bid specification
  • The borough has no written documentation that TERMS's remediation plan (SIP) was rejected by EPA. The Connell Foley lawyer claimed TERMS withdrew it after being notified it would be rejected

Mike,

How did you like those numbers? Apparently the additional contamination on the field is saving us $2.8 million dollars!

I guess that's how it is in Councilman Vidal's world.

Councilman Vidal is famous for pulling numbers out of the air that have nothing to do with reality.
