Please send your comments to ho.richard@epa.gov no later than Wednesday, November 17, 2010. Hard copies from both TASC meetings have been left at the Edgewater Free Public Library.

The materials from the TASC meeting of 11/4/10 are at:
http://estewards.com/services/edgewater/

The materials from the TASC meeting of 11/9/19 are attached.

An important omission from the alternatives chart is a column listing the barrier wall. The barrier wall is NOT a part of the proposed 4A alternative. If the barrier wall is placed down at the bedrock, it has the potential to keep contaminants from further polluting the Hudson River. The proposed 4A and all of the solutions using the SRB continue to pollute the Hudson River.

Please do not fall into the trap of favoring a single solution. The best solution(s) are a combination of different alternatives. There is a misunderstanding that River Road will need to be shut down in order to remove excavated materials from the Quanta site. Traffic will need to be rerouted. It is common for roads to be built/and or moved during construction.

All excavated materials must be stabilized BEFORE they are placed on a truck for disposal. All of the proposed plans will release gases, smells and require air monitoring. All of the proposed plans are leaving a large amount of materials behind. One of the major problems with the proposed Plan 4A is that the stabilization method does not have enough history behind it to ensure our future safety.

Do you need help writing your comments? Tina and I will be at the Starbucks in the Edgewater Commons 11/16 at 7:00 P.M.

E-minder that tomorrow is the deadline for comment submission and that they are holding a workshop at Starbucks this evening.
