Re: till Death do us part ...

I once had a Peachface. I think the problem was that I had only one Peachface.

Love Birds

In general . Keeping a lovebird as a single pet constitutes no problem on condition that you can provide for this highly social birdie a friendly atmosphere , space & toys for the dissipation of energy and at the same time equip yourself with(and devote some time to acquiring of) a basic knowledge of parrot's behavior and some other pet-birds related issues
(a dietary,medical ones etc)
moreover despite their name two lovebirds may not always get along (similarly to humans)and their mating must be done very carefully and you should be prepared for negative results and even take preventive measures against catastrophic developments
(heaven forbid)
So,if mating has been successful then there will be a romantic idyll,an enjoyment for our eyes ,a balm for our suffering souls but if not — a complete disaster...

a good website about peach-faced lovebirds is for example here

no doubt True Love also

Love Never Faileth

Follow me, reader! Who told you that there is no such thing as real,true, eternal love? Cut out his lying tongue!
Follow me(and the link below)and you will see that love!
Reader , this is the true and touching story of a crippled cockatoo and her wild mate, and how they raised their family - against all odds-contrary to the hostile world and its stupid elements.
The story begins as follows:
A Tale of Two Cockies
A Story of Love, Compassion, Friendship & Loyalty
''About eight years ago a wild Australian Sulphur Crested Cockatoo flew into a car and broke its wing. The motorist took it to the Vet in Nerang, Queensland, who had to amputate the wing. We adopted her <...> and kept her in a cage outside where she was often visited by wild Cockatoos....''

to learn what happened next visit this website

And please do not overlook the navigation menu with textual links ''Previous page'' , ''next page ''at the bottom of every page so as to peruse all story.

But it is worrying that the website has not been updated since some 2007 or so
This fact cannot but inspire rather sad thoughts.
It well may be that since some time things have been not perfectly OK in this once loving birds' paradise...

But no, Let us believe in better things

A deception that elevates us is dearer than a host of low truths...

let us believe in love faithfully and hopefully because love never...hehe...love cannot...hmm...love must not...Sic!...love must not fail !

"...Love suffereth long, and is kind;
Love envieth not;
love vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not its own, is not provoked, taketh not account of evil;
rejoiceth not in unrighteousness, but rejoiceth with the truth;
beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
Love never faileth.

But now abideth faith, hope, love, these three;
and the greatest of these is love
... ''

Looking through old pages

...this touching ( in general rather tragic )story I've found in the NYTimes Archives ,1994 issue
Two articles about fugitive(?) parrots in Central Park

Central Park Parrots: What Price Freedom?

A Warm Conclusion (in Part)

"I can't help thinking that parrots are not just any birds.They talk in our voice. They have lived among us. They are us."
Charles Kennedy,the birder
