PSEG taking down a nest?!!

oh no i was on a walk and i saw then taking down this nest i thought they werent going to do that??!! i hope there were no eggs in there

i saw PSEG up on 5 too taking more nests down - it looks like they took down a bunch! the one i saw earlier on my walk the parakeets are already rebuilding!!! they must really like those spots!

They take them down for safety reasons. They usually like to nest on the transformers because the transformers are warm. Unfortunately this poses a safety threat to the general public due to fires that can be caused when the transformers heat up under load. PSEG does however coordinate with the non-mating/birthing (not sure the exact term) for the birds so that there are no eggs disturbed.
