Angry Hess Corp. terminal on River Road

Can anyone tell me if there are any meetings on the opposition of creating an additional 1,873-residental units?
Isnt anyone concerned that Edgewater does not have the infrastructure to support this type of growth? Saturdays are impossible to get from point A to point B let alone point Z.
But on a more serious note. How would we get out of Edgewater if there was an evacuation? They are talking about an additional 3000 more cars on the street.
Isnt it time to just stop building? How about more parks?

Re: Hess Corp. terminal on River Road

During the last master plan reexamination, Freddy got the entire south end of town zoned for his sole benefit; literally, he controls almost all the affected lots. The Planning Board hearings were a joke. They had no studies regarding projected population increase nor the required services. The board planner's main concern was to ram the plan through to avoid hoopla from neighbors.

If Freddy controlled the Hess lot there wouldn't be a peep from anyone but the hardiest members of the public.

BTW, regarding evacuating town, the only word I ever heard publicly was from the former police chief, Donald Martin. He said it could be done, but that was a few thousand residents ago.

Mike is correct. Edgewater's development was solely based on optimizing # 1 developer and deep pocket campaign donator. He controls Edgewater's mayor and council.

Re: Hess Corp. terminal on River Road

Hi all, I just learned of another Daibes site just north if Hess tucked into Mariners Cove at 1000 Portaide.
He's a aprroved for 15 stores where there's nothing higher than all 4 around him.

It's time to start actively engaging the community to make noise about these projects. Who would be the appropriate state level official to report this kind of favoritism to a developer to?

We need ACTUAL environmental impact studies. As well as emergency response studies.
