IN ACCORDANCE WITH NEW JERSEY'S OPEN MEETING ACT, CHAPTER 231 OF THE P.L. 1975, THIS NOTICE WILL INFORM THE PUBLIC THERE WILL BE A REGULAR MEETING OF THE EDGEWATER BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT HELD ON DECEMBER 2, 2009,WEDNESDAY EVENING AT 7:30PM.

THIS MEETING WILL BE HELD IN THE MUNICIPAL COUNCIL CHAMBERS, 916 RIVER ROAD, EDGEWATER, NJ. PLEASE NOTE THIS NOTIFICATION WILL BE POSTED ON THE MUNICIPAL AND POLICE DEPARTMENT BULLETIN BOARDS AND PUBLISHED IN THE BERGEN RECORD FOR AT LEAST TEN DAYS PRIOR TOT HE MEETING.

Mike, is this the same app that has been tooling around since 2006? Designed by Edgewater architect du jour Conrad Roncoti?

This has been kicking around quite a while. I don't even remember the last hearing. Not sure why it was turned down.

Also, 774 RR is conspicuous by its absence. If anyone attended, I assume it wasn't heard?

Oh, 774 River Road was heard. Two experts - Engineer (first time before any Board) and the architect. Many residents of Crown Village showed up including a loyal dem (wonder when she stands).

Notably absent was any member of the school board or any of their representatives. As soon as Mr. D indicated that the 14 parking spaces on Winterburn could be used as parking for the teachers/staff of EVG, someone from the audience (not an ICBE member) said, no wonder nobody was here.

Embarrasing for the board, its experts and its attorney was a resident who stood up and said that there should have been a traffic study since the borough ordinance said you need one if there are 20 or more units. The developer's attorney raised a slight objection - that it was only for commercial development but the audience member re-read the ordinance and it does apply to residential!

I guess Mr. Candelmo overlooked that Ordinance when he said the project was "deemed complete".

I didn't get to listen to the Vreeland matter but I don't think that one had a traffic study either. Otherwise we would know if Vreeland is a public street or not. Mayor Merse says "no" it isn't. We just plow it because our people use it. Wouldn't that also apply to streets in the comlexes? I think those residents are "our people" too! Of course on the tax map, which is consistently wrong but is the "Official Map" of the town, it does not list it as a "private" road.

In any event, Mr. D indicated that at the January 6th meeting (when this matter will be continued) his experts will be the planner and the traffic expert so I guess we will have a traffic study by then.

And the beat goes on ...

Mary, is "Mr. D" attorney Demetrakis? And, any idea who their planner is?...

Sorry if I wasn't clear. Yes, it was the attorney, Mr. Demetrakis, who said that his witnesses at the next meeting would be his planner and traffic expert.

No mention as to who it will be but maybe their report is in the "deemed complete" file in the Building Department.
