Another Edgewater distinction

You probably won't believe this, but Edgewater had the biggest tax increase in Bergen County in 2014. http://www.nj.com/bergen/index.ssf/2...rty_taxes.html

This impressive effort, which belies Henwood and Vidal's "lower taxes" campaign signs, was achieved while paying minimal principal on a new school that is already full. Given the mayor and council's determination to make taxpayers pay the entire remediation cost of their PCB-riddled, closed park, I expect them to build on this record of accomplishment in the future.

Re: Another Edgewater distinction

I believe it, we have a new school and all the bureaucracy that comes with it to maintain. I will only get worse.

Re: Another Edgewater distinction

Anyone who has lived in Edgewater for a few years know that the Edgewater Democrat candidates had no problem misleading the public. And by misleading I mean LIE.
Let's see, we were promised low property taxes in exchange for all this overdevelopment. LIE,
Fact: for every $1.00 dollar we get in taxes for residential development we must spend at least $2.00 for services: schools, administration, public works, police, safety services, roads, recreation.....

We were promised $2,000.000 dollars saving in tax dollars for giving away our sewer plant to the County. LIE
Fact Our sewer cost have risen consistently since giving away our sewer plant.

We were promised that our park would be cleaned to the highest standard . LIE
Fact Just 35 days of being re-elected by a margin of under 40 votes, this Mayor and council voted to allow our part to be capped instead of cleaned to the highest standard. In December 2014, a resolution was passed stating that wherever water was encountered while remediating the park, a capping processed would be used instead of cleaning to the highest standard. What about our children!
I could go on, but it is too depressing.
I feel ashamed calling this mayor and council democrats, because they don't understand a damn thing about democracy.

Has to be mismanagement. What are the year over year financial statements for expenses. We can pick it apart line by line on this forum.

Re: Another Edgewater distinction

Expenses could be found in Edgewater's budget. Many expenditures are difficult to track as they are placed under "miscellaneous. "
